Hard is the latest release from one of Scotland’s best talents Rianne Downey the release comes off the back of a tour announcement and supporting Liam Fray frontman and founder of the band The Courteeners. It’s safe to say that it’s been a great start to the year for Rianne and it continues with this stunning track Hard, The track musically and lyrically is very catchy opening with the string section and piano followed by the drum beat building up to a fantastic chorus where the acoustic guitar and vocals steal the show for me.

The track has a different feel about it sonically it feels like there’s more production on the track compared to previous tracks I quite enjoy the change in sound especially for a track like this. Lyrically I think it’s a great track and captures the different thoughts and feelings that come with a break up. If you get the chance to see Rianne live grab it with both hands having experienced just how exceptional her voice is live after seeing her at TRNSMT Festival last year it opened my eyes to just how polished of an artist she is. Hard alongside the previous release Home really sees Rianne elevate her game to the next level I believe this will be a highly successful year for
